European Athletics U23 Championships: only 100 days left!

The city of Debrecen is preparing for arranging its third athletics world competition.The overture was the IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics in 2001 and it was the most important reason that Debrecen Sport Centre, giving place for the program, had become the official elite training centre of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) from 2003.

Continuation came naturally: in 2006 competitors of the 1st IAAF World Road Running Championships could get acquainted with the high-level competence of the organizers of Debrecen, kind hospitality of the city and warm love of the inhabitants.

The 6th European Athletics U23 Championships which will be organized between 12-15 July, 2007 - i.e. about 100 days later -  holds out promises of newer dimension of athletics for the competitors and fans of the sport. The athletes being no longer in junior age but under 23 years old, represent the present and the future of the sport at the same time, as there has already been competitors who have already been stars, but mainly such athletes with whose name we can become acquainted nowadays – maybe exactly in Debrecen – in order that we can not forget them later.

In the U23 ECh of this year, a bigger field than ever before will prospectively participate in and besides it, promises balanced and spectacular competitions. On the other hand, geographical lying of Debrecen gives rare opportunity to spectators from the neighboring countries that they can watch live the hopeful elite of the rising generation and they can try the magic atmosphere of the athletics competitions that can be compared to nothing.

Debrecen is waiting for Europe and Europe can count on Debrecen!
