Attila Zsivoczky takes the record
Attila Zsivoczky, the famous decathlete of Debrecen Sport Service Ltd., who gained bronze medal in Helsinki, came home from the World Championships in Athletics of Osaka not long ago where - in spite of his earlier injuries and leg operation - he was able to finish in the 12th place with 8017 scores.
- What were your expectations of the world championships?
- I started with better hopes in any case. I felt that I was in better form. Also the training results showed it, but now it turned out for me how important competing is in a season. I missed competing very much. My minimal aim was to reach the Olympic level: 8000 scores and fortunately I did it.
- You had another Achilles operation and a regrettable leg rhexis. Did you feel the effects of these during the competition?
- Insertion of the Achilles on the heel bone of my left leg became sore even before the competition and it caused problems during the whole competition.
- What experiences did you gain and did you have time to relax?
- I returned home with very good experiences. I stayed there for three days, thus after the competition I could see Osaka as well.
- When are going to begin the training for the Beijing Olympic Games 2008?
- A four-week-long relaxation is coming now and then comes the work. I would like to concentrate on the Olympic Games with all my might.
- What results do you expect? How do you see your probabilities?
- This Hungarian record was reached long time ago, so I would like to beat it in any case and it will be seen for what place it is enough. A lot of questions are still open regarding the Olympic Games; now my first task is a good training because good results can be reached only after it.
- Congratulations on the attained result and we wish you successful training without injuries for the next year!
