National sport première in Debrecen
A sport event which has never been yet in Hungary will be organised in Debrecen from 15 hours 28th September (Friday) in István Gyulai Athletics Stadium lying on the territory of Oláh Gábor Street sport centre.
The best decathletes of Hungary are trying their strength in a 100-minute-long decathlon competition. The aim is the same as in a traditional decathlon competition – to collect as many scores as possible – the „only” difference is that the starters have to perform the ten events within 100 minutes instead of 2 days. In this very intensive and hard competition not only members of the Hungarian selected team participating in the Super League this year – among them there are Attila Szabó, the national champion of 2007, representing the colours of Debrecen and Péter Skoumal, the silver medallist of the championships of this year - are competing; but the venturesome athletes of Debrecen Sport Centre are also trying themselves in the „competition of competitions”.
Attila Zsivoczky, the brightest star of the Hungarian athletics, the most outstanding individual athlete of Debrecen city, who is a world champion bronze medallist and a European champion silver medallist, will certainly also be present in the event; he is acting as a professional commentator as well. He could not undertake the competition because of a sorrowful smaller injury; but he is worrying over the competition on the site if the young ambitious athletes break his 7200 score non-official national record. It will turn out within a fleeting 100 minutes.
Debrecen Sport Centre is waiting for everyone interested in this event to a pleasant and exciting afternoon program to István Gyulai Athletics Stadium from 15 hours on Friday.
Entrance is free of charge for everyone.
Come to see it and participate in this great initiation. |
