Debrecen handed in its competition document  

In accordance with the requirements of International Olympic Committee (IOC), Debrecen handed in its competition document on Friday (26 October) for the organisation of the summer youth Olympic Games, which will be arranged first in 2010.

The document handed in to the IOC in Lausanne by the delegation led by Mayor Mr. Lajos Kósa consists of more than 200 pages – the project manager, Mr. Péter Szalay, informed MTI from the site. Beside Debrecen, Athens, Moscow, Torino, Poznan, Algiers, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore and Guatemala showed their interests sooner and the deadline for the application is 17 hours on Friday.

The IOC qualifies the candidates on 19th November and prospectively 4 or 5 cities can continue the competition  and these cities will be visited by a mixed committee of IOC.
