The Olympic Champion Hungarian Water Polo Selected Team in Debrecen

There will be a three-day-long tournament in the Sport Swimming Pool of Debrecen with the participation of the olympic champion Hungarian selected team preparing for the Melbourne World Water Polo Championship.

The Olympic title defender Hungarian water polo selected team is going to take up the fight against the best ones of Greece, Germany and Romania in the I. Volvo-Cup International Men’s Water Polo Tournament.  For all of the participants of the tournament which is going to be organized in the Sport Swimming Pool of Debrecen from Friday to Sunday will be an important training stage for the world championship in Melbourne in the middle of March.

From our rivals the Romanians finished in the 4th, the Greeks in the sixth and the Germans in the eighth place in the European Championship in September. The Hungarian team has already proved in ’Kolozsvár’  (Cluj) as in the international tournament between 14-17 February, 2007 the team head by Dénes Kemény captain of the association won without any defeat.

On 2nd March the first match of the tournament will be the fight of the German-Romanian selected team and after the opening ceremony we can be the spectators of the Hungarian-Greek teams’ match.

Next afternoon two matches can be watched in the Sport Swimming Pool since the Hungarian team is going to try their strength with the Romanian team and then we can be the eye-witnesses of the Greek-German teams’ fight.

On Sunday morning spectators visiting the pool can watch the Romanian-Greek match. The fight will be closed by the German-Hungarian match and it will be followed by the prize-giving ceremony.

Tickets in advance
Tickets can be bought from 23rd February for the I. VOLVO Cup – International Men’s Water Polo Tournament, which will be arranged between 2-4 March, 2007. The tickets can be bought at the back reception of Imre Hódos Event Hall, at the reception of Sport Hotel***, in the IBUSZ office and in the Sport Swimming Pool of Debrecen. 

The price of the tickets: 1950 HUF/day
(the tickets are valid for two matches a day)
