’NUSI-UPI’ Aquathlon National Final
The ’NUSI-UPI’ Aquathlon National Final supported by Sport XXI Program was held on Sunday, 30 March, in Debrecen. The sport event organised by Debrecen Sport Centre-Sport School, Hungarian Triathlon Association and the National Rising Generation’s Educational and Sport Servicing Institution (NUSI-UPI) began in the morning in the City’s Sport Swimming Pool and it finished late in the evening in Gyulai István Athletics Stadium.
For the competition organised for the third time this year, 30 % larger field entered comparing it with the field last autumn. Thus, this event became the largest competition of the rising generation of this sport.
571 competitors of the 42 teams were cheered by a big crowd of spectators on both sites proving importance of the new generation’s sport and popularity of the sport. Contrary to the torrential rain last year, the organisers and the competitors could be happy with the pleasant weather.
The organisers aimed that the participating young athletes could feel well, therefore they did their best to create good atmosphere for the contestants. In this spirit they made it possible for the participants this year as well to enter the Aquaticum Mediterranean Spa on a reduced price. Such steps are needed to keep more children in the sport.
