One Gold, One Silver, One Bronze

The sportsmen of the Debrecen Sport Centre and Sport School brought three medals from the indoor national athletic championship organized in Budapest. The only gold medal by a Debrecen athlete was won by long-jumper Attila Szabó (coach: Balázs Dömötör). The silver medal received by Péter Skoumal, head of section, DSC-SS, was a pleasant surprise. The women’s long jump competition was highly exciting. Heptathlete Orsolya Vörös, who had transferred to Debrecen last autumn, was in the lead up to the fifth round but in the final one even two competitors “jumped” ahead of her so she had to be satisfied with the third place.
