The European Fencing Championship Ended with a
Hungarian Gold Medal

In harmony with the spirit of the whole tournament, the U23 European Fencing Championship ended with a Hungarian gold medal in the Főnix Hall. On the closing day Áron Szilágyi added yet another gold medal to the two gold and two silver ones already received by the Hungarian fencers.  

Áron Szilágyi said: “The day started with some difficulties but then I managed to recover and with the help of my coach I finally won—not easily but surely. It was a great thing to win and I am glad that this European Championship has been organized by Debrecen. With such fans you can’t be defeated!”

In the end, the Hungarian team won three gold and two silver medals putting them in the first place of the medal table of the European Fencing Championship.
