Grand Event in Debrecen

The beginning of October in Debrecen was devoted to the talented young pentathlonists who could measure themselves in an international milieu. Since we cannot even remember the time when a pentathlon competition was last organized in Debrecen, the meeting between 6-8 October was a really grand occasion with some 70 young competitors.

The Hungarian Pentathlon Association and the Sport Centre organized the competition for Olympic talents in two age groups in cooperation. The event was really international with competitors arriving in Debrecen from the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and even Panama. The main characters of the meeting, however, were the Hungarian talents who reached quite a few outstanding results. The competition was attended by Attila Kálnoki Kis, the world-champion General Secretary of the Hungarian Association, who also discussed the possibilities of further cooperation with Mihály Orendi, head of the Debrecen Sport Centre.

Therefore, despite the fact that the last pentathlon meeting took place a long time ago, this very special event may be continued soon …
