Sport Centre Treasures

“Roots from the parents, wings from the school”
The city council of Debrecen organized a two-day international talent-scouting conference entitled “Our Treasures” under the slogan: “Roots from the parents, wings from the school,” with the effective cooperation of the Sport Centre and Sport School.   

On the first day of the conference—13 November—the venue of the conference was the Vénkert Elementary School, Kindergarten and Institute of Elementary Artistic Education where the event was opened by Ms. Gyöngyi Porkoláb, Chair of the co-organizing Debrecen Queen of Hearts Club and János Halász D., Vice-Mayor of Debrecen. 

The opening ceremony was followed by workshops and various sessions with a key position of the “Treasure-Hunter” sport talent-scouting program of the Sport Centre and Danica Keczeli, a key figure of the program. The day ended with a remarkable evening program. 

On the second day of the conference the participants gathered in the Bartók Hall where they could listen to the lecture of Lajos Kósa, Mayor of Debrecen, followed by a plenary session. Placing the “Treasure-Hunter” program in the centre, Mihály Orendi, Director of the Debrecen Sport Centre and Ms. Danica Keczeli, sport psychologist, made presentations. In addition to them, Endre Czeizel, Professor of Genetics, had a very interesting lecture on the intellectual capacity of men and women.

The Saturday morning program ended with Mrs. Katalin Papp, Head of Department while the closing event of the whole program was a charity night of a fantastic atmosphere which was made possible by the support of the Queen of Hearts Club in the Kölcsey Cultural Centre. At the program the “treasures” of the Debrecen Sport Centre were given significant support thanks to the organizers and all the participants.
