I believe that it is not necessary to introduce to everyone Debrecen Sport Centre Public Utility Co., which has undergone a complete reorganization in 2000, as results and events of last years speak for themselves.
Our establishments playing central role in the sport life of Debrecen, ensure high-standard training and competition facilities for several crack teams. By organizing national and international tournaments we won professional recognition several times. Our 8-lane recortane track, which was made for the World Youth Championships in Athletics, won high-grade qualification of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). And in summer of 2003 we have officially become to be the Élite Training Centre of IAAF.
Up to now many foreign teams have returned to Debrecen for training camps since the World Championships and we hope that in the future more athletes or teams will choose us as a training or competition venue.
But the Sport Centre is of course open also to the public loving mass sports and sports. In our comfortable life which is lack of sports, we consider it very important that sports should play role not only in the lives of active and professional athletes. We ensure sport establishments meeting the requirements of our time in all fields.
Our further plans are to have enterprise programmes, team-building tasks, family programmes and thus to introduce widely facilities of the sportcentre.
But success will depend not only on us. We need partners who understand and acknowledge these plans.
